We are running Informix 7.13UC1 with KAIO using Sun Veritas on Cray Solaris 2.4. All of our Informix dbspace chunks are on raw logical volumes. Turning KAIO ON (we had it OFF for a few months because we required a patch to run it for our Cray platform) increased the performance of inserts in one of our applications by 3 times without any other system reconfiguration. No problems to report, either. Kathy
