RE: Client SDK Compatibility
Posted in 2009
Because in any update, you have to do it in stages? I don't think the issue is not upgrading the CSDK, but are there any problems in running an older CSDK against 11.5? You upgrade the engine, test the old CSDK, then upgrade to the newer CSDK and perform your regression tests... Though in its all possibilities it *should* work with IDS 11.5. However I am not sure if you will get adequate support in case you face any issue(s). Is there any reason you don't want to upgrade CSDK to 3.50 (which is released/certified with 11.5) as well? -Shesh "Habichtsberg, Reinhard" <RHabichtsberg@arz-emmendingen.de> Sent by: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org 06/03/2009 15:22 To "Informix-List (E-Mail)" <informix-list@iiug.org> cc Subject Client SDK Compatibility hi all we are on the way from IDS 9.40 to 11.5. There will be much questions to ask and I hope it will not be bothersome. Today's second question is: Which versions of CSDK esp. the runtime libraries can be used with IDS 11.5. For example: Is it possible to use INFORMIX-Client SDK Version 2.70.FC3 (64 Bit) with IDS11.5FCx. Or could even the runtime library of INFORMIX-Client SDK Version 2.70.UC3 (32-Bit) which we have installed in parallel used with IDS11.5FCx? Backgrond is that we have application which don't care for the IDS-version but for the version of the runtime-libraries. One example is the DataDirect Sequelink Server for ODBC which uses the 32-bit library against the 64-Bit IDS 9.40FC9W2. Could this szenario possibly work against IDS 11.5FCx. OS is Solaris 9 or 10? TIA Reinhard. _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live™ Groups: Create an online spot for your favorite groups to meet. http://windowslive.com/online/groups?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_groups_032009
