This was in this morning's InformationWeek Daily email news: ============================================================ ______White Exits Informix, Finocchio Takes Over______ Phil White has resigned as chairman of Informix Corp. just nine days after bringing in a new president and CEO to help run the company. White is succeeded as chairman by Robert Finocchio, the database company's recently appointed president and CEO. White was apparently forced out by Informix's board of directors. "I agree with the board that the company is best served with one clear leader to take a new view of the company's direction," White said in a brief written statement. White, who canceled a speaking engagement yesterday at DCI's Data Warehouse World Conference & Exposition in New York, was not available for comment. Finocchio was formerly president of 3Com Corp.'s enterprise systems business and its second-ranking executive. Finocchio left 3Com in late March, following the company's acquisition of U.S. Robotics. Informix, in Menlo Park, Calif., has yet to announce its financial results for the second quarter, which ended June 30. A company spokesman says the results may be announced next week. One financial analyst says he expects Informix to post a pretax loss of $58 million for the quarter. -- John Foley (for more on Informix, go to http://www.informationweek.com) ============================================================ Any comments??? -- ====================================== Paul Mosser, DBA / PA MiniSoft, Inc.
