RE: OnLine 7.10 Locking

Tom, We are using 7.1 on at 340, getting ready to migrate to a J30, so I am very interested in swapping stories. We have found that although we have set row level locking in a table, within a transaction we still get page level locking. We too have several calls into Informix, so I will pass on any info as we get it. You mention that you have set dirty reads. Have you found a way to set this as a default or at the database level? We have far too much code to add this into the source. Are you having problems with performance on stored procedures? Informix tells us that this is a known problem when using parameters, but we have not found a difference between using parameters and not. We are hoping it is due to our single processor development machine. I would also be interested in you J30 configuration as IBM and Informix have been less than helpful with suggestions on # of processors and memory size. Thanks, Tim Porreca
