We are using IDS on RH Linux. We take the backups with the following command
on the Hard drive itself.
$ ontape -s -L 0
recently we are getting the following message.
after 90% message displayed is
Tape is full .......
insert another tape.
kindly help us.
Thanks.
VERSION INFORMATION PLEASE!
In this case in particular it changes the answer! If you are using one of
the later releases of IDS that support large files, change TAPESIZE in the
$ONCONFIG file to zero (0) and ontape will keep writing to it until it
reaches 4TB in size before asking for a new tape. If you are using 11.10 or
later, you can also change TAPEDEV to a directory instead of a filename and
IDS will rename the archive files and start a new one automatically. See
the Backup and Restore Guide for details.
