Correction to IIUG Board Meeting Notes
Posted in 1998
Here is a correction to the October 1997 IIUG board meeting notes we recently received: Cathy Kipp (cathy@iiug.org), IIUG President } ********************************************************************** } } In a posting of the IIUG board meeting notes dated December 17, 1997, } some erroneous information was outlined regarding Endura (formerly } known as FourGen). } } The notes indicated that Endura has formulated a new strategy under } which the 4J's compiler is utilized. This is not the case at all. } } Endura two years ago developed our "Presenter", a presentation engine } which resides on the PC and allows for GUI (or character) rendering } of all menus and input screens. While this was a good first step in } the process of extending our applications to the Window's environment, } clients asked for more. } } Our current application workbench (available for most tier one } Informix ports) now generates client source code, allowing developers } to customize the presentation of 4gl applications through charts, } graphs, client side logic, etc. } } This capability was developed in-house and makes no use of the 4J's } product. } } If any further clarification is desired on this matter, please contact } Mark Selin at Endura Corporation. } ********************************************************************** } Mark Selin web: http://www.enduracorp.com } Endura Software Corporation email: mark.selin@enduracorp.com } 115 NE 100th Street Phone: 206 522-0055 x.4082 } Seattle, WA 98125 fax: 206 522-0053 } **********************************************************************
