Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Karl Oliver's dbimport on Linux (IDS 11.50.FC9) failed on lines containing ^M, despite ALLOW_NEWLINE 1 on both systems. Luis Panozzo suggested running dos2unix on the export files and Art Kagel asked how the export was made. Karl found he had moved the files from UNIX to Linux through his Windows PC; using rsync instead gave correct files. Solved.

help please
import is failing when it hits a line with ^M in it - is this new line
Thinks there are more cols in import file than in table
export was done on unix HPUX system
I have ALLOW_NEWLINE 1 set in onconfig file on both systems. Thought this
would stop this problem but does not

Hi.
I think you must enter into the export directory and run dos2unix
cd database.exp
dos2unix *
cd ..
Drop database and star again
Regards.

The carriage returns (^M) in the .unl files should have been escaped. How
did you create the export?
