I am having a problem. I am do my archiving using ADSM and Onbar. Each time I archive Onbar/ADSM creates a new FILESPACE(I believe that is what it is called.). ADSM is using the backup portion of ADSM and I have not been able to figure out how to expire the older FILESPACE's, so that I can reclaim the tape storage space. Below are some of the vitals of our platform. ADSM Server Version 3.1.5 ADSM Client Version 3.1.6 IDS 7.30.uc6 AIX 4.3.2 TIA David Link
I think you are seeing new versions of the archive being created. The expiration is controlled via ADSM, and there is no connection between ADSM and OnBar to delete old records from ixbar.0 and the bar_ tables in sysutils. Someone, I don't remember who, wrote a script to purge the ixbar.0 file and bar_ tables. I have a copy of the script and will be glad to send it to you if interested. Nothing is officially provided to delete logs from ADSM. Again, someone wrote a ADSM-api program to purge files from ADSM and that program can be used to purge logs. Again, a copy of program is available. Hope this helps Doug Agnew dagnew@charlottepipe.com Link, David A. wrote in message <7b2rjd$9k$1@news.xmission.com>... > >I am having a problem.
