Delphi w/ Informix

Hi, I'm very new to Informix and I have a few questions I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with. I'm using Delphi (16 bit version) on a Win95 machine to call into an Informix 5.x database on an HP host. We're using the I-Star link on the HP and Borland's SQL Links on our PC side. I can attach to the database and open / query various files in the database with no problems (well, almost none :-). The database that I'm accessing consists of several tables with a wide variety of record size from table to table. I'm using the visual components in Delphi to set up access to the database tables, and I've had no problems specifying SQL statements that extract the data I need from various tables. Efficiency, on the other hand, has been a problem. In particular, one of the tables that I'm extracting records from has many rows of only 2 integers. I'm performing an SQL statement that extracts a subset of the total rows, but then I do a loop until EOF grabbing the 2 ints and doing a NEXT operation each time. This seems to incur a LOT of overhead (don't forget, I'm on a dialup connection). Is there a simple way to have Delphi grab *all* of the records that match the SQL SELECT and transfer them in one big block to a local table on my PC? If I could do this, the NEXT statements wouldn't carry that big of a time penalty as I traverse the records in the table. Thanks in advance for any help you can lend me! -- --- Wendell H.
