Hello All, Soapbox on If I sound cranky, its because I just got off the phone with Informix regarding upgrading from OnLine 5.02 to 7.1. Well, since we are on maint. its a free upgrade. BUT, when our current maintenance runs out, they want to charge my company 4 TIMES OUR CURRENT AMOUNT for the following year. My Current support is $2700.00 for all three The New Pricing is: 270/User for OnLine 200/User for ESQL/C 200/User for ISQL -------- $10,720 My support for my existing 16 user license will match what we paid 2 years ago for all the products! The Informix rep blames it on the new 'User Based Pricing'. Am I the only one as upset about this? Are people really paying such ridiculous numbers or are people sticking with the 5.x series?
