Online v7.1.3 Level 0 Restore Prob

I have been trying to restore one of our backups onto a different machine which has the same file system/chunk layout as the machine the backup was done on. Occasionally, the restore fails on the restore of the rootdb. But on restarting the server everything seems OK. Normally, we have to remove and then re-add the temporary dbspaces as they become inconsistant, but in this case it says everything is OK. If I try to restore from the tapes again, it might work without complaining or might fail again on the rootdb space. Is this a tape/tape drive problem or are there other powers at work? Regards, Paul.
