Re: Reversal of Records

I will try to conduct some experiments to see how Informix stores records and get back with my results. From what I've experienced so far, when using PERFORM and you do a Query (that is folks, you use the "Query" option on the Perform menu), and then view your records using the "Next" option on the menu, it seems to make no difference whether the table has a serial column or indexes on various columns: after doing a series of deletes and adds, the newly added records will not be retrieved in the order in which they were entered. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= John Baker USAISC - Lex Phone: (606) 293-3644 or 293-3743 Lexington - Blue Grass Army Depot DSN: 745-3644 or 745-3743 Lexington, KY 40511-5109 E-mail: jbaker@lexington-emh2.army.mil =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
