Can anybody tell me if Informix 4GL is ODBC Compliant? And if so, does anybody have experience with Informix 4GL using Oracle as the data source? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks Kevin Kim

It doesn't usually use ODBC at all, so every ODBC function that it calls it calls in a completely compliant manner:-) You probably could write a C interface library to call onto ODBC functions, and it might even work once you'd worked around all the issues. You'll probably see my more detailed response on this from the Tech Support people you also asked this question (he says, taking a wild guess that the same question arising twice inside 24 hours usually has the same source). > And if so, does anybody have experience with Informix 4GL using Oracle > as the data source? Strictly N/A, of course. However, you could consider using the Enterprise Gateway Manager which looks like an Informix database to the unsuspecting ESQL/C application but actually connects to ODBC data sources -- such as Orable. I've not tried it, so I don't have any experience to offer. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
