I am not sure why there are people who believe only they can do the job -- in this case, the performance tuning of Informix OnLine. Before we made the purchase of the second CPU, we asked an Informix Engineer to visit our site. We did not commit to purchase the second CPU for the same reason: we were skeptical about the possible improvement of the additional CPU. Due to our volume purchase of Informix OnLine, we are able to bring in Informix Engineers when it is needed. After the detailed investigation by the Informix Engineer, he recommended to acquire the second CPU. I guess according to Brian, this Informix Engineer HAVE TUNED ONLINE MISERABLY. Should I post the name of the Informix Engineer here? Chao
