where can I find out more information about how Informix access the OS password file? If anyone wishes to share some information about this, it would be greatly appreciated. we have very large password files (> 15,000 lines) What effect does this have on our performance with Informix? Informix does not access the UNIX password file directly. Informix connections use the same validation that rcmd uses so if the performance of other rcmd utilities, say rsh/remsh and rlogin are OK so will Informix connections. Art S.
