534: Cannot open EXPLAIN output file.

Dear Informix Gurus,
Need your advice & help in solving the below issues.
I was trying to get the SQL Plan for some queries which is taking few minutes.
But I am encountering with an error number:-534
I tried to sort out the issue using finderr utility.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-534 Could not insert new row into table, table is locked.
Database servers at Version 4.0 and later do not return this error. In
earlier versions, its meaning is the same as error -271 with ISAM error
code -113. Roll back the current transaction, and run it again when the
table has been unlocked.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-534 Cannot open EXPLAIN output file.
The statement SET EXPLAIN ON has been executed, and the database server
is trying to open the file sqexplain.out in the current working
directory. An operating-system error of some kind prevents it. See the
ISAM error code for more information. Look for operating-system errormessages that might give more detail. Likely problems include a lack of
write permissions in the current directory and a full disk. This error
message appears beginning with Version 4.1.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wonder because this is the first time i am getting two error descriptions
for a single error number.
I checked for write permission and disk space. There is no issues with them.
Could you please let me know where i am going wrong here.
I feel that i am not able to tell INFORMIX what exactly i need or my message
is not passed to the Server correctly.
Is it realted to any env settings ?
Looking for your suggestions.
Thanks,
Manivannan.
Manivannan-
The reason you got two explanations for the error code is that they re-used
error 534 in versions after 4.0. It's still included because the message file
doesn't know which version of Informix is installed, so in the unlikely event
that you're still running a version before 4.1, you can look up the error.
Otherwise, the error is telling you that Informix doesn't have permission to
write in the location it wants to put sqexplain.out.

Does this happen only after accessing an external database? We've had that
issue, and the only way around it was to
be the root user, no matter what the permissions were on the path to the
explain file. I don't know if this has been fixed in
11.7, but it was a problem in 11.50UC3 ...

The older message is only for old OnLine 4.0 instances. Your problem is the
second one. It looks like the sqexplain.out file is not writable if it
exists or the directory won't allow the engine to create the file if it does
not exist. If the user is a remote user, the file is created in the user's
home directory on the server. If the user is local to the server the file
is created in the current directory the user is in.

Thanks Art. I understood the issue now. I am trying to get the plans from the remote server. Thanks for the timely help. Thanks, Manivannan.
