I am familiar with the "no more extents" message, but not the "no more pages" warning. Is this the same thing ? What are my options ? 13:56:52 WARNING: partition '<my_table>': no more pages "This email is confidential. If you have received it in error, you are on notice of its status. Ok, I found this older post from Art - > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > 04:35:59 partition 'mydb:test_user.test-table': no more pages > > 04:35:59 Process exited with return code 1: /bin/sh /bin/sh -c > /u/informix11.5-3/etc/alarmprogram.sh 3 46 "partition 'mydb:test-table': no more pages" "" "" Reply: How many pages are in the existing extents? A single fragment of a table cannot have more than 16million pages (6^24 actually). You may either have to move the table to a dbspace with larger pages or fragment it across two or more fragments. Yup, that's the answer. Not much you can do without a reorg to fragment the table or move to a larger page. You may be able to buy yourself some time with a purge of old rows in that table and a repack/shrink, but may be faster to do a reorg. My apologies for this late answer. We ran into this crisis over the weekend, so I ran with Art's reply that I found in the archives on Google. The way we fixed it (PS. this is also an "old" table - it contained old records that were not needed anymore) Steps to fix: We renamed the table. Created a copy of the table in its place (this table we also fragmented over dbspaces). Then we reloaded 1 years data into this new table, from the old table that we renamed. And the old table that we renamed, will be archived and taken offline. :-) This was a new one for me. I have had the "no more extents" issue before, but not the "no more pages" issue. This is now sorted - thanks. -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Mike Walker Sent: Saturday, 19 March 2016 2:46 PM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: RE: "No more pages" [36799] Yup, that's the answer.
