Using synonyms to update remote tables

Hi, Anyone has some experience in using synonyms to update remote tables??? Ex: Server InstanceA Database db1 table CLIENT Server InstanceB Database db2 synonym CLIENT for db1@InstanceA:CLIENT I need to use the synonym CLIENT to select/update the table CLIENT. Any comments?
