Upgrading to IDS 9.40.HC7
Hi to all, On all our machines we have IDS 9.40.HC4 installed. Then, on one of the machines we experienced an IDS crash with a semop 34 error - suddenly ids crashed withought any human intervention. I must say that this machine is constantly under some load - not too big but still ... From our vendors it is sugested that we upgrade to IDS 9.40.HC7 because this fault (semop 34) was known bug in IDS 9.40.HC4. So I am asking: 1. What benefit of upgrading to IDS 9.40.HC7 from 9.40.HC4? Are there many bug fixes in this release? 2. How is the IDS 9.40.HC7 release proven in real life? Any customer's complaints about this release? 3. How do you find the sugested solution about this semop 34 problem? Upgrade or ... ? Thanks in advance. Dejan.
Hi, we are running IDS 9.40.FC7W3 on HP-UX (64bit, FC7W3 is an interim service release on the way to FC8) and are very happy with it. If you are using the global statement cache (STMT_CACHE 1) you should do extensive testing. Without global statement cache I would expect no problems.
