Check the following UNIX kernel parameters (which ones you have will
depend upon your version of UNIX).
HDATLIM/SDATLIM set these to unlimited (something like 0x7FF...FF)
HSTKLIM/SSTKLIM set these to unlimited (something like 0x7FF...FF)
HVMMLIM/SVMMLIM set these to unlimited (something like 0x7FF...FF)
MAXUMUM set these to unlimited as well.
MAXMEM
Also check kernel paramters related to shared memory and semaphores
allow 400 semaphore sets and 400 seamphores.
allow 100 shared memory segments, minimum size 0, maximum size as
large as possible (say 512Mb).
When setting these kernel parameters you need to allow for future
growth and these values should last a lifetime. Putting the limits
this high may waste up to 1/2 Mb but that is nothing if you have 128Mb
of RAM (<1%!). If you use up 127 1/2Mb of RAM out of 128Mb you should
be uping the RAM anyway!!!
Also check your release notes $INFORMIXDIR/release/ONLINE_7.2 for more
info on kernel parameters.
