If there's no :record (in the systables) of the table, how can we recreate the table? Create a table with exactly the same columns and no indexes (no primary key or anything else). Copy your old .dat file to the newly created .dat file. Do a bcheck and you should have your old table there again. Create the primary key and any needed indexes.
