We are attempting to upgrade our systems from a 4.10 tools, 5.00 database
to 4.12 tools, 5.03 database. We have discovered more than one glitch. This
one is particulary puzzling. Please email me if you have anything to offer.
One piece of existing code will compile however at run time it bombs on an
insert statement:
INSERT INTO table VALUES(record.*)
Two of the columns in table and record.* (defined with LIKE) are datetime
year to seconds. The first datetime variable contains a valid datetime value.
The second datetime variable contains a NULL. The error message that we get
is:
Program error at "alintest.4gl", line number 1039.
FORMS statement error number -1268.
Invalid datetime or interval qualifier.
We have tried the following different syntax:
INSERT INTO table (column1, column2, ...)
VALUES (record.var1, record.var2, ...)
INSERT INTO table VALUES (record.var1, record.var2, ...)
We then prepared the above statement like
INSERT INTO table VALUES (?,?,?,?,?,...)
In all cases the result was the same (BOMB) and the error message was the
same. When assigning the value to the datetime year to second variable
we also tried:
LET var1 = CURRENT
LET var1 = CURRENT YEAR TO SECOND
Neither of these helped.
Thanks in advance for your help.
