Hi. We're working on a conversion project from 4gl v7.x to d4gl v3.x.... from unix aix to winnt, from IDS 6.x to IDS 7.31.... I'd like to thank all of those who helped me out in my previous postings. We're finally seeing the light with a lot of help from comp.databases.informix & informix.idn.d4gl. Thank you all. We're still encountering some glitches and here's one of them. We're using a radio button widget on one form and we noticed that clicking on the radio button alone doesn't trigger the action we'd hope..which is to return the asssociated value. The only way to make it work is to 1 - click on the radio button 2 - press "ENTER" 3 - Accept key (or click on OK) is this a glitch in d4gl v3 or this is really how the widget works? (I'd rather think its the former... the latter seems so ...un-GUI like. regards, Joben O. Rara Financial Software Technologies

When you type a character into a char field, D4GL doesn't go off an execute anything unless you program it to do so. Ditto with a radio button. To get the radio button to react, you'd need to program an AFTER FIELD clause, and the cursor would have to move out of the field. Interesting thought; what does AUTONEXT to? I4GL isn't very GUI-like in general. D4GL does a very good job of improving it and making it passably GUI-like. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (jonathan.leffler@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
Thanks Jonathan. Actually, we did get it to work by putting the radio button fields before the other fields [rad01] ... [f001] That it worked may have been a "side-effect" of its position in relation to the other fields. Now if only there was something about this in the manual.... but that's for another post.
