I have the core dump should anyone wish to see > it. Thanks for the help. Please send all requests for further information > to uunet!bjudev!gzimmer. > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- We at Texas Instruments found this in our 4.00.UE1 QuickStep and had Informix fix it in a 4.00.UF2 maintenance port of QuickStep. They didn't need the core dump, just instructions on how to reproduce it which they did on a SUN. It is a generic bug. Here's how it is described in the release/MACHNOTES40UF2 file: ================================= MACHINE NOTES FOR INFORMIX 4.00.UF2 PRODUCT RELEASE December 1990 ================================= -------------- Bugs associated with QuickStep -------------------------- B8916: QUICKSTEP CORE DUMPS WHEN QUERY COLUMNS ARE OUT OF ALIGNMENT In the "correspondence of report to query" screen in Quickstep, if one of the query columns is shifted out of alignment a core dump can occur. ================================= On the SUN, they couldn't see that the columns were shifted out of alignment, but they got the core dump. On the TI System V/1500, the column could be seen shifted over a space. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Cris Schramm Texas Instruments, Inc.
