Sigh. Well, lets see. There was a meeting between IIUG and Informix, so *they* should be able to tell you the latest status of Informix on Linux. As a member of the Linux Committee and one of the people behind the survey found at datad.com, I can honnestly say that the linux market place is large and is being missed by Oracle, Sybase, and Informix. You may want to contact Informix's PR group. According to Mike Finocchio's latest statements, he is ignoring the *commodity* marketplace and doesn't want to compete at the *shrink wrap* level. (He feels that the *margins* are not there.) Plus he feels that he can compete against Oracle and Sybase in Datawarehousing. (Now I know I am going to get flames from some twit who will say that Informix *is* tops!) Truth be told, if a shop is Oracle, DB2, or Sybase, and that they want to do a datawarehouse, they will choose Oracle, DB2 Universal, or Sybase over Informix. So how can Informix compete on a niche while forgeting the rest of the enterprise? Sorry for the rants, but if I had something to Rave about, I would. -Uncle Mikey Rui Santos wrote: > There is any informix 4gl version for linux? > If there is, how can i get it? > > Thank you > > Rui Santos
