IBM is marketing DB2 in the BI space. :o) > So you are in fact confirming the continued issue that IBM is still not marketing or training their sales force to market and or sell IDS? If true, then wouldn't it be better for IBM to allow IDS to fully evolve in to a competing product and sell it exclusively via OEM, partners and channel sales? Of course large integrated clients who run Informix will still get their on site sales reps who'll slave to their every desire. :-) This way IDS has a chance. BTW, how much money does IBM contribute to partner marketing efforts? ... ;-) -G _________________________________________________________________ See how Windows connects the people, information, and fun that are part of your life. http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/msnnkwxp1020093175mrt/direct/01/

You forgot to repeat yet again the piece of shit about "How many qualified IBM people are there to sell Informix in <insert name of places we've never heard of here>?"
Now thats funny. Central North Territory covers the following States: Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Western Missouri (St. Louis), Wisconsin and Minnesota. Anyone with a third grade education can either go to an atlas or globe and see these states. Or you can go to google maps. That's a large chunk of real estate. Much larger than a puny country like the UK, Germany, France etc ... And there are 3 IT Specialists covering the sales teams in said territory. Now if you've never heard of this territory than you're pretty daft. Maybe you should stop drinking methanol or denatured alcohol and shill out the bucks for the real thing. I could talk about the South East considering that they've lost a couple of their Informix IT Specialists over the years. Not sure if Bob Baron is still doing it. I know Mike R. is out. ... The one interesting thing I found is that Bob P. ?sp? is now in Lotus. Promoted up and out after screwing up the V8 launch.... ;-) We could talk about California. I think that there are two, at least two that I know of who have IDS certs behind them. (Cindy and Edward) But like I said, I'm going from memory. Why don't you pick up the phone and call some friends in the US and prove me wrong? Oh wait. Just IM them via AIM.... -G > From: theharlequin36@hotmail.com > Subject: Re: Informix on Campus Program > Date: Thu, 25 Sep 2008 18:57:55 +0100 > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > "Ian Michael Gumby" <im_gumby@hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:mailman.1806.1222362858.20610.informix-list@iiug.org... > > > >> So you are in fact confirming the continued issue that IBM is still not > >> marketing or training their sales force to market and or sell IDS? > > You forgot to repeat yet again the piece of shit about "How many qualified > IBM people are there to sell Informix in <insert name of places we've never > heard of here>?" > > > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list _________________________________________________________________ See how Windows connects the people, information, and fun that are part of your life. http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/msnnkwxp1020093175mrt/direct/01/
