autochangers and ontape

We are purchasing a HP9000 T520 which will have around 80GB of disk space. 60GB will be for the Online database. We are investigating the use of autochanger for the tape backups, but I understand that Informix does not support them. Also, Informix tells me that the max tape size is 2GB unless it is a streaming device. This would be a lot of tapes and manual intervention for backups if we can't use an autochanger. Has anyone used an autochanger? What was your success? How was it configured? etc..... thanks..........
