what if integer is not integer - Informix SE on Linux

I have PB6.0 running on Win95 and Win98 machine. They are connected to Informix SE on Linux box by using native driver from PB6 with Informix I-Connect 7.2, and I found I can not keep the same integer value in PB and Informix 1) If I run the following code: long ll_test ll_test = 250 update test_table set col1 = :ll_test; the col1 value in Informix table test_table will be 249 ( if col1 is integer field ) or 249.9999999999999000 ( if col1 is char(20) ). 2) If I use retrieve() function in PB6: dw_1.Retrieve(50) returns the value like parameter of 49. Is it floating bug or floating setting problem? If it is the setting problem, where I can change the settings? Thanks you very much for any feedback. Randy
