Informix/ODBC/Text datatypes

Text datatypes in Informix 7.13 don't seem to be very ODBC friendly. We're a client/server software developer working mostly in C++. We are exploring other RAD tools such as PowerBuilder for some of our less complex maintenance functions. None seem to handle Text datatypes gracefully ... any kind words on this topic would be greatly appreciated ... Thx, Bill
