One slight problem....
If you are using the LVM (Logical Volume Manager) on AIX, HP-UX, etc ...
you may need to increase your offset otherwise you will over write some
of the
LVM's info if you don't include the offset.
Yeah, you may want to consider using the LVM to help manage the raw
chunks.
(But that's another topic, and I only play a DBA on tv. ;-)
