The tricky bit is learning how to use it. -> I don't know what the name of the Perform / Ace product is. It may still be Informix-SQL. However, under the name "DBACCESS", SQL is now bundled with engines in newer revs of Informix. So the name Informix-SQL would be somewhat misleading. I haven't talked with a sales rep for a while, but I think the new packaging is: a. SE engine, with DBACCESS b. I-Net c. OnLine engine, with DBACCESS d. I-Star e. 4GL application tools, either compiled or RDS f. Perform / Ace application tools g. ESQL for various languages Thus, a reasonable package might be: one of a or c, the appropriate b or d if you do client / server, and one of e, f, or g. Back in the "old" days I had to buy a, b, e, AND f, even tho' I didn't need Perform and Ace, because SQL was bundled in f, not in a. The newer packaging makes sense to me. It would have saved us some money, had it been available way back when. Regards, Alan ___________________________ ______________________| R.
