You should still be able to take advantage of that offer for deployment if you need that. Check http://www.informix.com and your local Informix office. As to compiling: For 4GL on Windows NT you need to buy Dynamic 4GL from Informix. There is also an alternative available from Querix in England (http://www.querix.com). I haven't tested this so I have no idea how well it works. It may be cheaper. For ESQL/C (embedded C) you can simply download the free client SDK from http://www.intraware.com Most people seem to use ESQL/C, not the CLI (ODBC call level interface) or Object Interface for C++ but that may be due to the fact that ESQL/C was allways there while the others are newer products. You should also check out the Informix Developer Network site awailable from http://www.informix.com (directly it's http://www.informix.com/idn). You have to register, but it's for free and has a lot of interesting information. For ODBC and JDBC you might want to check out the OpenLink products (free download from http://www.openlinksw.com). Theirs are better than what you get with the client SDK from Informix.
