Dbload performance

We are in the process of loading about 80Gb into an Informix db using 7.1 Online on a Sun SparcServer 2000. And a long process it is! We are using dbload going into non-indexed files. Our source files are pieces of tables ftp'd from the mainframe. Are there any tricks to making dbload go faster? Any help is much appreciated.
