Visual Basic with Informix

Hello, I have a customer that it have one application make with MS Visual Basic, versus Databases access. this customer want connect with Informix ODS, I have understand that it is full transparent for the application. but, the application was makes using instructions such as: ADD NEW XXXXXX UPDATE EDIT XXXX UPDATE, etc. is it transparent for DATABASE informix Using Informix CLI?
