IDS on Red Hat Linux

I have installed IDS 9.4 on a Red Hat Linus box. I have it working fine
from the box locally. I cannot connect to the instance from the network
though. I set the port in the /etc/services file and have rebooted the
machine. What else am I missing?
ONCONFIG:
DBSERVERNAME lnx_test_shm # Name of default database
server
DBSERVERALIASES lnx_test_asx,lnx_test # List of alternate dbservernames
SQLHOSTS:
lnx_test_shm onipcshm informix lnx_test_shmlnx_test_asx sesoctcp informix 1527
lnx_test sesoctcp informix 1526

Is the port number listed in the /etc/services file of the client machine, (the machine from which you're trying to connect)? --John. --- "Jarratt, Li...." <LJarratt@co.lake.il.us> wrote: > > I have installed IDS 9.4 on a Red Hat Linus box. On
Linux and 9.40, the protocol is onsoctcp, not sesoctcp, for your last 2
connections. You also need a NETTYPE parameter in your onconfig. Mine are
like this:
NETTYPE soctcp,2,90,NET
NETTYPE ipcshm,1,90,CPU
Probably will require an engine bounce to take effect.

Thanks
all. I had use sesoctcp instead of onsoctcp.
