I don't use /etc/* files for NIS maps, mine are in /var/yp/etc, where they *should* be IMHO (discussion in comp.sys.sun.admin). Informix seems to be NIS aware, but works on files directly, and doesn't use NIS calls (at least for passwd). Hope someone can fill in the rest. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Joseph P.
