Data Director for Visual Basic and Informix
Posted in 1997
The informix website says it's for VB 4.x, and I"m wondering what the latest direction is for this product, in light of the really amazing richness of VB 5.0. As much as I detest Microsoft products VB 5.0 is quite simply amazing. If you come from a 4GL background, and are looking for something to do applications with in GUI, you might want to evaluate it. It ain't your mommas' VB. And could be a nice alternative to New Era. Informix, 1. What is the direction for Data Director for Visual Basic? 2. Will it work with VB 5.0? Please elaborate. 3. What differentiating feature benefits will I get by using it with VB 5.0? 4. What kind of pricing/licensing is available? 5. What kind of availability? 6. If I were to use it for VB, and wanted to migrate the finished app to Java, will there be a migration tool/path to Java? 7. Will you be providing any more information about this product at the conference or your web site? 8. Are you planning on offering any other SDKs or APIs or tool kits for Visual Basic? Thanks!
