Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

We're migrating a database from one machine to another. We have to move
some tables to *different dbspaces of differing sizes*. At first
dbexport looked like the best utility to use, since it gives a high
degree of freedom in placing tables. However, it doesn't seem to run if
other users are accessing the DB.
We wanted to set all tables on the original server to Select-only access
for the duration of the data migration to diminish the impact on users -
DB at least still up and accessible. But this idea won't fly if we
can't run dbexport while users on on. (I don't recall seeing in the
manual that it had to have exclusive access!).
Any alternate suggestions or strategies?
