If you are running Informix OnLine version 7.1x or later it is not
possible to do a restore directly from the archive tape if the archive
isn't file number 1. If you forward spaces to file 2 before making the
restore with ontape, then ontape checks the archive header this works
ok, ontape finds the header information but then it rewinds the tape
and aborts because now it is not a archive but a log backup or what
ever you have as file 1 on the tape. It is described in the manual
Archive and Backup Guide in chapter 12.
