Create a table where you store your menu entries (more in the next sentence). Have a 4gl array of records where you store the likes of command name, command comment and a unique value associated with the command. Select into the the array values from said tables for the menu that you want to populate. Create a menu where command names and comments are variable, and more specifically elements of said array. Each menu command action would be to set the value of an "action" variable to the unique value associated with the command. Have a huge case statement which, for each possible action value, executes the action you want. If you want vertical menus, have a look at the vertmenu package in the IIUG software repository. You are smart enough to work out the practicalities of the above yourself. -- Ciao, Marco ______________________________________________________________________________ Marco Greco /UK /IBM Standard disclaimers apply!
