Hi netters, There is a BIG bug in ESQL/C (version 5.01) of INFORMIX. It requires that the 'user' host be listed in /etc/hosts.equiv of the server(dbhost) even if it is listed in $HOME/.rhosts of the user. If it is not listed, the ESQL/C routines will work intermittently. Here is what happens if the host x is not listed in /etc/hosts.equiv on server: On host x, user tries to run ESQL/C application and he get the error Error -956: The host is not listed in /etc/hosts of the remote host Then that user login to server and runs the application and application works just fine since it is not running client/server mode. Now, the user comes back on his host x and runs application without any problems. Have you seen this problem before, if you have, do you have the work arround, put + in /etc/hosts file on our is site is big NO NO.. Thanks in advance jaswant On host x, user tries to run ESQL/C application and he get the error Error -956: The host is not listed in /etc/hosts of the remote host Then that user login to server and runs the application and application works just fine since it is not running client/server mode.
