UP.Link Application Developer This highly motivated individual will build applications for the UP.Link platform. This involves building web server applications that are targeted at small hand held devices (such as cellular phones and pagers). The majority of the development consists of writing CGI programs in C++ that interface to relational databases (Oracle) and are targeted to a new markup language called HDML (similar to HTML, but much more restricted). There are a number of interesting UI considerations and scaleability issues. Of course, this candidate must be a world class developer proficient in C++, writing multithreaded code, using relational databases for persistence and have experience with WWW server environments (Netscape, Perl, HTML, JAVA, etc.). This candidate must have at least 7 years of experience, be equally proficient at design and implementation, and have outstanding communication skills. BSCS/MSCS Highly Desired.
