dbexport across multiple tapes

Sorry for the previous empty posting... Does anyone know if dbexport and dbimport support exports/imports which span multiple tapes? I have a database which is too large to fit on a single tape which I wish to move from one machine to another. Can this be done with dbexport/dbimport? Can anyone suggest other and/or better ways to do this? I'd to minimize downtime. The two machines will differ greatly in disk configuration (this is part of the reason for the move) so ontape/onarchive do not seem to be alternatives. TIA Irwin
