Informix Marketing and more...

Folks, sorry, but my newsreader is somewhat confused. So I decided to open a new thread before answering to the wrong contribution... It doesn't help if we attack each other in that manner. Almost all of us wish that Informix succeeds. DoubleEcho and many others made good and valuable contributions to the marketing request list. Bernie Spang (Data Server Marketing of IBM Information Management division) already posted some feedback here: http://jhingran.typepad.com/anant_jhingrans_musings/2006/01/information_as_.html#comments As you can read, he agreed with many of the points in our list. This is encouraging and shows that IBM takes our complaints seriously. Now let's give them some time to improve things as "Rome wasn't built in a day...". Give IBM a chance to realize what Bernie promised. However we will critically proof the progress of these good intentions. I promise you that. I also understand that some people are tired about those discussions here on CDI. But please keep also in mind that the success of Informix will strengthen the position and the future job opportunities for anyone who is working in the Informix environment. This applies especially for technical oriented people, so don't blame DoublEcho and others for pointing up shortfalls, as it is essential that those things get fixed by IBM as soon as possible. Thank you for your appreciation and tolerance and let's look forward to a bright future of our favored database or data server as IBM calls it now -:) Wish you a nice weekend. Eric
