You must 1) configure something like 'sendmail' on your unix box so that the following command works: # sendmail addres@server < text_file 2) in the 4gl, use the RUN statement to execute the same command RUN "sendmail addres@server < text_file" If you want to send mail with attached files, you must install on your unix box a software like 'mutt'.
