Transaction Logging

We are using a transactional database, and when we attempt deletes or updates of any complexity, we can only do less than about 100 rows at a time, or else we get the error 346 (cant update) and 121 (cannot write log record). We have > 500K blocks disk space free. Clearing out the log record first also doesn't help. Suggestions? Thank You.
