To be precise, a Level 1 archive will include those _pages_ on which a new row was inserted since the last Level 0 archive. In Ignacio's case, because there are no updates (and I assume no deletes), this would comprise all the pages added as the result of the inserts. In a case where there were updates and deletes as well as inserts, this might include pages from throughout the OnLine system. Note that even though only one page might need to be written to tape during a Level 1 or Level 2 archive, all the pages in the OnLine system need to be examined to determine if they have been modified since the last archive. Thus, the duration of the Level 1 and Level 2 archives is a factor of more than the speed and capacity of the tape drive. ___ ___ Senior Consultant / ) __ . __/ /_ ) _ _ __ Informix Software Inc.
