DB compiler developer for BayArea startup

My client is a software startup located in San Jose. They provide a "database portal" which will allow a user to log onto their corporate system and, using a web browser, will be able to query all the enterprise data sources. This will greatly reduce the time spent collecting data and critical information stored in a variety of places (warehouses/ERP programs/databases) within the enterprise. This is a concept whose time has come and the technology and the company are being very well-received. Currently my client has a need for a senior relational database developer who has extensive experience with RDBMS compilers. A strong background in *plan generation* is required. Familiarity with the *Volcano* model is desired. Other background should include experience with all aspects of compiler development, particularly query rewrite, query optimization, etc. A BS/MS in Computer Science and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience are needed.
