This is Bug #68290 filed under technical support case 612831.
This bug is caused by a Microsoft Windows client accessing
an Informix database, where the client workstation's Computer
Name field is longer than eight bytes. To get around this,
go to Windows Control Panel, select Network, select Client For
Microsoft Networks, select Identification, and enter a value
for Computer Name that is shorter than eight characters.
Shame on Tech Support for not being able to reproduce this.
