Inserting RETURN character

Hello, I am having problems while inserting in a Informix database a string catched from a form field (a textarea) with several lines. I think the problem is the return character. How can I¨insert it? The exception is: java.sql.SQLException: An illegal character has been found in the statement. Thank you

This works fine for me.
